Rainforest Cottage, 51 Veivers Rd, Palm Cove

A cottage with a big secret -  from the front you have no idea of the extent of the garden at the back. It's huge. A small deck on the upper garden overlooks the rainforest glade below and the seasonal creek beyond.  This is a place that your kids will want to explore.  A great place for hide & seek.

North Queensland is all about the outdoors and this garden invites exploration.  Take a book and wander off. Find your own quiet seat in a shady nook.  Follow the wide creek bed under great rainforest trees.  Named Sweet Creek by Capt Cook when he called in to replenish his fresh water not long before the near disaster off Cape Tribulation.

If you are not planning on going anywhere particularly, then you won't even need a car. The beach is about 5 minutes walk away.  There are shops, cafes and restaurants all along the esplanade with the big Melaleuca trees framing the sparkling Coral Sea.

If you like fishing you will find plenty of company on the Palm Cove jetty. Go there anyway - the view of Double Island and the beach running in a great arc all the way down to Taylor Point is brilliant.

Many of the paintings in the cottage are the work of the owner who has a gallery on the esplande.

This is a wonderful holiday home for a family or a small group of friends.
